Barry started riding at age 6 in Clearwater, Florida.   From the start,  she always wanted to jump the highest jump out there, she loved it, it was her passion.  As she grew into adulthood Barry built up the Full Cry Farm name.  Together with her mother, Nancy Lane, they built the business into one of the most highly respected farms in the hunter/jumper industry.  Barry had such a zest for life, a wonderful sense of humor and she was totally selfless.  She always put her family and clients ahead of herself.  She truly cared for all her clients and saw to it that they were placed on the right horse for them so they would feel comfortable and do well.  She taught and coached people from dawn till dusk and sometimes earlier and later to help them succeed at shows and in their riding careers.  She gave total unconditional time, instruction and effort to all of her clients whether they had a little money or a lot of it.  Because of this Barry was truly a "people" person.  She cared for every single person the same way.  She had a quiet patience about her that helped her clients stay calm and focused, and with her positive attitude and sense of humor, helped them to accomplish their goals.  This same patience and positive attitude also helped her to work so well with other professional trainers.  She was able to get everyone to work together, with the final result of having things work out the best for everyone concerned.

   The outpouring of cards, letters and contributions to her Memorial Fund by so many professionals from across the whole country is such a tribute to how well she was loved and cared about by everyone in the industry.

   The WEF Challenge Cup in Wellington, Florida each Febuary has been chosen to receive the Barry Louise Lane Perpetual Memorial Trophy.  Each year the WEF Challenge Cup will help us remember Barry's passion and her love of working with people and horses every day of our lives.  So good luck to all competitors in this class and let us celebrate Barry's life by having a great class.
